Copyright and content takedown (India)

Last updated: 11 October 2026

Ezy·it (India) respects the work of writers, employers and other creators. If something on Ezy·it (a job listing, a page we published or a file someone uploaded) copies your work without permission, or infringes another right you hold, such as a trademark, tell us and we will look into it.

We handle these reports under the Copyright Act, 1957, the Copyright Rules, 2013, section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (the “IT Rules”).

How to report it

Email hello@ezyit.ai with the subject line “Copyright / takedown” and include:

  1. Your details: full name, postal address, phone number and email. If you are writing for the owner, say who the owner is and how you are authorised to act for them.
  2. The work: what it is (for example a job description, an article, a logo or a photo) and where the original can be seen, if it is online.
  3. The exact page: the full web address (URL) of each page on Ezy·it where it appears.
  4. A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not allowed by the owner or by law, that the information in your report is accurate, and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them.
  5. Your signature, physical or electronic.

If you own the copyright or hold an exclusive licence for it, you can make your report a copyright notice under section 52(1)(c) of the Copyright Act and rule 75 of the Copyright Rules, 2013. For that, it must also include:

  • details that show you own the copyright or hold the exclusive licence;
  • why the copy on Ezy·it infringes it and is not a use the Copyright Act allows;
  • who uploaded it, if you know; and
  • your undertaking to file an infringement suit in a competent court against the person who uploaded it, and to send us the court’s order within 21 days of the day we receive your notice.

If we cannot find the content or tell who owns it, we will ask you for more detail. Please do not send a report you know to be untrue. We may refuse reports that are incomplete or made in bad faith.

What we do

  • We acknowledge your report within 24 hours of receiving it.
  • If your report is a complete copyright notice under rule 75 (it has everything listed above, including your undertaking) and we are satisfied the copy infringes your copyright, we disable access to it within 36 hours of receiving your notice, as rule 75(3) of the Copyright Rules, 2013 requires. It stays disabled for 21 days from the day we received your notice; if a court order reaches us in that time, we follow the order. If none does, we may restore it.
  • We decide on any other report within seven days of receiving it, the time rule 3(2)(a)(i) of the IT Rules sets. If the report holds up, we remove the content or disable access to it.
  • If someone on Ezy·it posted or uploaded it, we tell them what was removed and why.
  • We keep the removed content and its records for 180 days, as rule 3(1)(g) of the IT Rules requires.
  • If a court orders us, or an authorised government officer tells us in writing, to remove something, we do so within three hours, as rule 3(1)(d) requires.

This page is about copyright and similar rights. To report anything else on Ezy·it, such as content about you that you did not agree to, write to the same address. The IT Rules set shorter times for some of those reports, and we follow them.

If your content was removed

If we removed something you posted or uploaded and you think that was a mistake, for example because you own it, you have the owner’s permission or the law allows the use, email hello@ezyit.ai with the subject line “Copyright / counter-notice” and include:

  1. Your name, postal address, phone number and email.
  2. What was removed and the page where it appeared.
  3. Why you believe the removal was a mistake.
  4. A statement that the information you give is accurate and made in good faith.
  5. Your signature, physical or electronic.

We acknowledge it within 24 hours and decide within seven days. We may share it with the person who made the report so they can respond. If we find the removal was a mistake, we restore the content, unless a court has ordered otherwise. Content we disabled on a copyright notice under rule 75 stays disabled for 21 days from the day we received that notice, unless a court orders otherwise.

If you are not satisfied with our decision on a report or a counter-notice, or we have not decided it within 30 days of receiving it, you can appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee set up by the Government of India under rule 3A of the IT Rules, at gac.gov.in, within 30 days of receiving our decision, or once 30 days have passed without one. Our acknowledgement is not a decision.

Repeat infringers

If an account keeps posting or uploading material that infringes other people’s rights, we may suspend or close it.

Grievance Officer

The IT Rules ask us to name a Grievance Officer on our website. Ezy·it’s India company is being incorporated, and the Grievance Officer’s name and the company’s registered address will be added here once it is. Until then, send every report and counter-notice to hello@ezyit.ai; the times above apply.
